Pastor Ken Reporting – December 28, 2017

I hope you had a great Christmas! I had a really nice time with my family in North Carolina. This coming weekend I will be at Madison Campus for the church services and the Stuyvesant Memorial Service but will then head up to Kentucky to officiate the wedding of one of my camp staff.

One Big Thing: Together in God’s Word

The pastoral staff and elders would like to invite the entire church to read through the entire Bible together in 2018. If you have never read through the entire Bible this is a great opportunity to discover how easy it is to do and the huge blessings that come from reading the Bible consistently.

We will be using a Bible reading plan called, “Let’s Read the Bible Together.” Here is a link to where the reading plan can be found. If you have a smart phone you can download from the app store the Youversion Bible app. Here’s a link to download the app. If you would prefer a hard copy of the reading plan look for them at the kiosks in the church lobbies.

You will find that our sermons this year incorporate readings from the upcoming week and we will have small group studies available based off the readings. I truly believe that reading through God’s Word together will be a wonderful journey filled with blessings.

Devotional Thought

“We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching in our past history.”
Ellen White, Life Sketches, p. 196
We often neglect to reflect on how God has led us. The end of the year is always a good time to reflect on what God has done in our lives, not just over the last 12 months, but how those 12 months connect with the rest of our life. I would encourage you to take some time out before the new year begins to reflect on God’s leading. I think you will be amazed at how even the difficulties of the last year have given you the opportunity to grow in your relationship with God.
Don’t forget to live our mission statement to love God, love people, and serve the world!
God’s blessings,

Ken Wetmore
Senior Pastor
