Pastor Ken Reporting – January 25, 2018

Did you enjoy the ministry fair last Sabbath? I hope one of the things you noticed was how many ministries our church runs and how many of those ministries benefit those outside our church walls. For me, the ministry fair was a good reminder that our church is living it’s mission statement to love God, love people, and serve the world. I want to send a huge thank you to Teresa Quirante who organized our ministry fair and did an outstanding job!

We have a great fitness initiative this year at Madison Campus. It is called “2018 in 2018.” Unfortunately, our snow Sabbath, cancelled it’s big debut so I want to make sure you are aware and can take part.
The idea is to walk/jog/run 2018 miles in 2018. If that sounds daunting, the good news is that you can do it individually or in teams of up to four. It is going to be really fun and comes with some great incentives. Click the “2018 IN 2018” button below for more information or to sign-up.

The pastoral staff and elders would like to invite the entire church to read through the entire Bible together in 2018. If you have never read through the entire Bible this is a great opportunity to discover how easy it is to do and the huge blessings that come from reading the Bible consistently. We are using a Bible reading plan called, “Let’s Read the Bible Together.” The easiest way is to go to our new church app and chose the plan in the Bible reading plan section. Another option is to download from the app store the Youversion Bible app and then search for the “Let’s Read the Bible Together” reading plan, or you can just click on this link. If you would prefer a hard copy of the reading plan look for the bright yellow piece of paper at the kiosks in the church lobbies.
Happy New Year!  Mission of Hope is collecting devotional books and bibles again this year to take to the Philippines.  Please bring them to the church office or library and mark “MOH” so we know it is for us. For more information contact Teresa Quirante at

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
Don’t ever give up. Jesus will not give up on you. It is important to remember that you did not begin the “good work within you.” God did. If you will allow Him, he promises to finish the work. Notice when the work is finished. It isn’t when you accept Jesus. It isn’t when you are baptized. The passage is clear that God’s transforming work isn’t finished until He returns. It is easy to get discouraged but never forget, that He who began the good work is faithful. Let us remain faithful to allowing Him to do that work in us.
Remember to live our mission. Love God. Love people. Serve the world.

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ken
