Pastor Ken Reporting – February 1, 2018

(If you don’t read anything else, read this)
We are holding a campus-wide week of prayer starting this Sunday, February 4. I am very excited because this truly is a campus week of prayer as Madison Academy, Madison Campus Elementary, and Madison Campus Church are all coordinating together. For better or worse we failed to consult our TV guides and did not realize until about a week ago that our first meeting is during the Super Bowl. We decided at this point it is what it is and you can make you own decision about attending, but we are going to continue on because this is a “week” of prayer. Madison Campus Elementary and Madison Academy will be leading our week of prayer at the church. Meetings begin with a light supper served from 6:00 to 6:45 pm. From 6:45 to 7:30 pm we will have our devotional time. At Madison Academy, Pastor Nacho will be speaking in the mornings, Mondaythrough Friday at 11 am. At Madison Campus Elementary, Madison Academy students led by Chaplain Jamieson will be speaking at morning worships at 8 am. You are invited to be a part of any or all the meetings happening on our campus. I know God has a great blessing in store for all of us!

The pastoral staff and elders would like to invite the entire church to read through the entire Bible together in 2018. If you have never read through the entire Bible this is a great opportunity to discover how easy it is to do and the huge blessings that come from reading the Bible consistently. We are using a Bible reading plan called, “Let’s Read the Bible Together.” The easiest way is to go to our new church app and chose the plan in the Bible reading plan section. Another option is to download from the app store the Youversion Bible app and then search for the “Let’s Read the Bible Together” reading plan, or you can just click on this link. If you would prefer a hard copy of the reading plan look for the bright yellow piece of paper at the kiosks in the church lobbies.
A Celebrate Recovery Men’s Twelve Step Study is meeting on Wednesdaynights at 6:30 p.m. in the Larkin Springs Entrance foyer.  You don’t have to attend the Celebrate Recovery program to attend.  If you have hurts, habits, hang ups, anxiety or fears come join us.

“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.”  C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce
This is one of my favorite quotes. To me it very simply summarizes the Great Controversy. God’s will or my will? Revelation 14:4 speaks of the 144,000 and what jumps out to me is that they follow the Lamb wherever He goes. That’s why they are pure. It is because they have submitted their will to Jesus and simply follow where He leads. Have you submitted you will to Jesus recently? Have you given Him permission for His will to be done in your life? If you haven’t, please do. If you have, please keep doing it daily and even moment by moment.
Remember to live our mission. Love God. Love people. Serve the world.

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ken
