Pastor Ken Reporting – September 13, 2018

We had over 200 people attend our church birthday social last Saturday night and it was a blast! I am always impressed with the incredible talent in our church. The birthday cakes and decorated tables were phenomenal. Be sure to check out my picture of the week to get a glimpse. Thanks so much to our incredible social committee for planning such a fun evening.
(If you don’t read anything else, read this.)
We need your help with our church budget. The church budget item on your tithe envelope helps provide funds for our elementary school, academy, the 403 Center, evangelism, outreach, the power and water bills, etc. In other words, it is vital to the operation of our church. Currently, we are more than $50,000 behind where we were at this time last year. Could you consider putting a little extra into the church budget over the next several months so that we can continue to accomplish the mission God has given our church? Thanks!
We are working on plan to renovate “Our Father’s House,” which we usually call, our church. Send me a picture of something you wish would get fixed or renovated at Madison Campus Church along with your reason. The picture below is of our stairwell near our main foyer. We have a major water issue that is causing serious problems to our wall and carpet. Everytime I walk a visitor past it I feel embarrassed. It’s not as simple as just painting the wall and replacing carpet. Major work needs to be done to stop the water issue. For me, this is one of the things that MUST be fixed in our renovation. Send me a picture and tell me about your “must renovate” from our church. I’ll start putting them in my newsletter and on social media.

Do you know the history of Madison Campus Church? Do you know what Sabbath School is best for you? Do you know how to find out information about events happening at MCC? Have you met the MCC staff and gotten to know them? Have you gone through the core doctrinal beliefs of the Adventist Church lately? If you answered no to any of these questions then Madison Campus  Church (MCC) 101 is for you! We were supposed to start last Sabbath but since no one showed up we are going to try starting this Sabbath and will meet for 10 weeks in my (Pastor Ken) office during Sabbath School. If you don’t know where that is, be sure to sign up so we can tell you. The class covers the core doctrines of the Adventist Church and gives you all the information you need to know about being a part of the Madison Campus family.
Naomi’s fellowship will meet Sunday, September 30th in the downstairs fellowship hall at 2 p.m.

October 6, Mary Grace will share her music and testimony at 4 p.m. Mary Grace is a gifted pianist who was born with only one hand. You will be inspired by her music and testimony.

Our card ministry team, led by Glendyle Levinskas, is sending cards to those on our prayer list. If you know someone who should receive a card but isn’t on our prayer list, please email their name to our church administrator, Mona Huffman, or write their name on one of the prayer cards found on the back of our pews and put it in the offering plate. To those who have been blessed by the CARE Ministry and would like to give back by joining the card ministry, please contact or text Glendyle Levinskas at 865-306-7455  “Loving people through written words of encouragement”
In addition to accepting donations during regular store hours Monday through Thursday, the Adventist Community Services Center (ACSC) will accept donations for the thrift store on Sundays beginning September 9, 2018, from 10 am to 2 pm.  If anyone would like to be a part of a team one Sunday each month, you may come to ACSC any Sunday and talk to the lead volunteer for that day or phone David Bell at (615) 389-9692.
Labels to receive Cents for worthy projects is offered by Loma Linda’s program.  Only UPC canned good labels, no frozen food labels. $.25/label and need at least 400 labels to equal $100 to submit a form.  Go to for more information.
Celebrate Recovery needs additional folks who could help provide child care on Monday evenings.  We have folks attending who need to bring their children with them, and the child care you can provide would go a long way toward their road to recovery.  Even if you can only help in this area one week a month, you would be making a huge impact in the lives of the children as well as the CR attendee. Please contact Dan Davis, 615-202-4839 for more details.
Come stop by and meet baby Hudson on October 6 from 7-9 pm at the Downs’ home, 151 Island Drive Hendersonville, Tn. We are so excited to celebrate with Chris and Shannon Wilhelm the arrival of baby Hudson. In lieu of gifts, we are collecting money to help cover adoption fees. There will be the opportunity to sponsor a puzzle piece (picture of baby Hudson) as a symbol of our community’s support. Every puzzle piece sponsored will have the name of the donor written on the back. You can sponsor puzzle pieces at this celebration or drop off donations at the office of Madison Campus Elementary or Madison Campus Church by Friday, October 5.
Join us in reading through the Bible together as a family. Even if you haven’t done the readings so far, it would be great to have you start now. I think there is a real blessing in reading the Bible together. Hard copies of the Bible reading plans can be found at the kiosks in our lobbies. Here is a link to the online Bible reading plan for August.   Let’s Read the Bible Together – September.

The All Church Birthday Social was awesome. In this picture you can see a couple of the birthday month tables and one of the birthday cakes.
He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
Revelation 22:20 (NLT)
Both Kyla and Eric were born after their due dates. I vividly remember anxiously waiting for their arrival. Looking at Rachelle’s belly there was no doubt that the event was going to happen…it was just a matter of when. I couldn’t wait to see my children face to face.
Jesus, the faithful witness has promised he is coming soon. From the books of Daniel and Revelation we know that the time is near. There is no doubt. I can’t wait to see Jesus face to face. How about you?
Remember to live our mission. Love God. Love people. Serve the world.

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ken
