Dr. Alex Adams
Dr. Alex Adams is one of the new additions to the MCC elder team. He is an assistant professor at Austin Peay State University and has been at Madison since 2013.
His favorite thing about MCC is the community here! His favorite hobby is watching sports (specifically soccer and baseball) and his favorite movie is The Dark Knight!
When asked why he wanted to serve on the MCC Elder team he said, "I am passionate about fostering a culture of serving and warmth. Our mission is to love God, love people, serve the world. We can do this by facilitating a place that people can find a way to get connected. I am eager to contribute my perspective, collaborate with elders, and help shape our community that will positively impact the world."

Rose Perez
I am honored to serve as an elder, supporting our church family through leadership, connection, and a heart for ministry. I co-lead our marriage small group, where I love helping couples build deeper relationships through Christ. One of my greatest passions is creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Outside of church, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters. In my free time, you’ll often find me drawing, exploring new restaurants, gardening, hiking, or planning my next adventure.
I have a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and currently work as the lead teacher for infants and toddlers in a child development center a role that can be as rewarding as it is challenging.
Fun facts: My favorite movie is Drumline, I’ve traveled to 13 different countries, and I once got to ride a helicopter over the site where they filmed Jurassic Park in Hawaii!

Claudette Carter
I am a woman full of God's love. I love my husband of 60 years. I love my children and grandchildren and I love my dear church family. I have grown up in the Adventist Church since birth and have been a member of the Madison Campus Church for 33 years.
I worked in the Federal Government for 24 years, accumulating these years both in Europe and in the United States following my husband from place to place until he retired from the US Air Force in May of 1984. During this time, I attended the University of Maryland and received a degree in Management. This led to me receiving a Management position as the Administrative Officer at the Tennessee US Small Business Administration for 19 years, retiring in 2011. And thus, another wonderful chapter of my life began.

While being stationed overseas, my husband and I were blessed with several baptisms through bible studies we had in our home. We have had the pleasure of keeping in touch with many of these precious friends and are thrilled that they are still strong in their relationship with Christ.
I try to keep our Who Cares Sabbath School Class informed and updated on our church mission of “Love God, Love People and Serve the World,” by sending a weekly class email that covers current prayer requests and also updates on past requests. The email also includes reminders of class responsibilities such as, greeting and also serving breakfast at the 403 Center once a month and reminders of upcoming social events.
Attempting to play the piano by ear, reading to relax and taking care of my immediate family as well as my church family are joyful hobbies for me. Or, maybe I should say the latter is a personal conviction for me—through God’s leading. Staying in touch with friends and praying for them regarding their needs and circumstances draws me close to them and keeps me close to God.
My gift, I am told, is hospitality and organization. I am also a Hugger. When I become acquainted with people—and if appropriate and with their permission, I tend to hug them “Hello” when I see them again, as I feel they have become part of my family.
